Could This be Getting … Extreme?!

Today is day 2 of keeping a tally of the number of coupons I use in a month and I’ve already hit the half-way mark of my monthly savings prediction.  Whoops!  I think I had “groceries” on my mind, and hadn’t considered the high value coupons that I often redeem for household items and personal care.  And today’s Customer Appreciation event at Shoppers Drug Mart resulted in a whole lotta savings:  savings that are all part of our strategy to permit me to stay home with the kids as a Save-at-Home-Mom!  You can read all about my trip to Shoppers Drug Mart in my post on Canadian Coupons.

Day 1 – 12 coupons used for $13.96 in savings

Day 2 – 13 coupons used for $62.85 in savings

Month to date:  $76.81 saved by using coupons

Happy Couponing!

Tally of an Extreme(ly routine) Couponer!

So often I’m asked if I’m an Extreme Couponer and my answer is always a resounding (and slightly defensive) NO!  And equally as often, I’m asked if I actually save anything with coupons, to which I confidently (yet still somehow defensively) reply YES!  And to show just how un-extreme, yet extremely worth it it is for me to use coupons, I’m committing to keeping a tally of my coupons used and total savings for the month of October so folks can judge the savings for themselves.  Drop a line if you’d like to find some of these coupons too – I’d be happy to pass on the scoop on where I got them and whether or not they’re still available.

I can’t even hazard a guess as to how much I’ll save this month.  I don’t shop every day, nor do I use coupons each time I shop.  I’m going to take a stab:  $125 in savings this month.  Let’s see how close I am!

Happy Couponing!

First Post – Christa Clips!

When I first started tweeting, I often felt like I was yodeling off a mountain side with hopes that 1 of my 4 followers might hear me!  Starting a blog site feels even more daunting;  kind of like reciting a (painstakingly memorized) Shakespearean soliloquy to an empty theatre.

Why the effort?  Because I know I have stuff to say that’s worth sayin’ and worth the effort of sayin’ it myself, in my style.  I’ve been blogging at CanadianCoupons.net for several months now and will continue this blog as a parallel adventure.

So stay tuned for my articles to start rolling out … they’ll be about savvy shopping, clever couponing, and  – get this – cooking & housekeeping tips from someone who a) can’t cook and b) is a total clutterbug!

Welcome aboard … I can’t wait to see where ChristaClips takes us, together!
