About Me

As my maternity leave ended and we crunched our numbers, it became clear to my husband and I that we’d be saving more by me NOT returning to work outside the home .  But being a Stay-at-Home-Mom wasn’t a financial option for us, so for a number of years I became a Save-at-Home-Mom:  clipping coupons, changing my shopping routines to become more savvy, and taking advantage of being able to cook & clean during off-peak hydro hours.  I (happily) spent a great deal of time and energy doing what I could to save a great deal of money and resources to help support our family.  I have since transitioned into a Work-from-Home-Mom and still use the same time and money saving hacks so that I can maintain a healthy work-family time balance.  I hope that this blog will provide some insight and inspiration to other families who are looking for ways to Save-at-Home!

  1. I agree 100%. I will be doing the same in January. I have always worked part time and contributed but it cost a lot to run a company just part time. I love being at home, meals, cleaning and most of all my kids have benefited greatly too especially for hockey!
Good Luck and I will be following your journey!
