  1. Found this blog through your business card at a coupon swap!

  2. Hey, Christa!! *waves* I’m a “save-at-home” mum of FIVE. I shop at the discounted meat section of the grocery store! It goes right into the freezer, so there’s no worries about BBD’s…once thawed it gets used same day. I save approx. $500-600/year. ;o)

  3. I found your site because you referred me here! I use coupons out of necessity, following a job cut back and I didn’t make the cuts. I love Downy and would love to win a coupon for a freebie!

    • Thanks for stopping by, Tonya! And good news, Downy will actually mail you the cannister …. no need to fuss with a FPC! (besides, I’ve never even seen this mega sized bottle in stores. There’s actually a picture on it to warn you against storing it on a top shelf … it’s heavy!!!)

  4. Well hello I am Cathy Found your site after following you on twitter!

  5. I save tons of money just by pricematching. Coupons are an added bonus! Also, I haven’t yet jumped on the smartphone wagon, so my monthly phonebill is only $17 🙂

    • me too, Kelly – price matching is the foundation of our savings every week since fresh produce and meat coupons are so rare. Have you seen any of the new “price-matching” lanes at RCSS? Pure bliss!

  6. Hi, I found your blog through another Facebook coupon group. I am new to saving but living every moment of it.

  7. Stay at home mom here too 🙂 recently opened a daycare and price matching/coupons have definitely helped me to save and provide the kids with great nutritious foods at amazingly little cost! Changed our lifestyle completely!

    • Hi Jacynthe! That’s when i started to get into price-matching as well – buying fresh fruit for the daycare crew was CRAZY expensive until I realized that I could pm at Walmart and pay the lowest possible price for any fruit, at any time. Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Well Missy
You and I would have to have a session on how to find and use coupons etc.
Have no patience in the past but now with the house etc I am actually looking at the flyers every week and I am shopping smart.

  9. I’m a 30 year old save-at-home-mom. I got hooked on couponing a couple of months ago and it’s now my number one hobby! We live on a very tight budget but my hubby likes his brand name stuff. This has been great! He has even moved from his regular items at times simply because he now sees how much I can save. I’m always on the lookout for another freebie or super sale. Thanks for posting a link to your blog on East End Coupon Queens!

    • Interesting that you mentioned ‘brand names’ … I’ve just noticed that we’re now buying more brand name than no-name because of matching sales with coupons. Do you find they’re cheaper than no-name sometimes, too?

  10. I stay at home with my kids, but run a home daycare as well. I price match and coupon for all snacks for my kids for school as well as the daycare. I saw this on East end coupon queens.

  11. Do I have to be a Save-at-Home Mom to enter this? I’m a Dad who works every day but still likes to save. 🙂 I met Christa for the first time at SoCapOtt last year. And it was really great reconnecting again this year.

    • of course not, Sean – especially if you’ll be the one tossin’ these gems in the laundry! Great to re-connect with you again at SoCapOtt – thanks for finding my blog!

  12. I save by hunting for coupons online… I’m a new mom my 9 week old keeps me busy, but living on half a salary now, looking sales is my new hobby. And I would love to make my clothes smell better… Seems like all I do with my days is laundry… Who knew babies are so messy 😉

    • 9 weeks! i’m sure you’re in full time laundry mode! Your washing machine will smell nice even after the laundry is taken out .. these little things pack a lot of punch!

  13. I’ve Price matched for over a year and just started coupons back in spring time. So even more savings its great. With a family of 5 food goes in and out of the house so quickly.

  14. I found your blog from following you on Twitter! I hunt coupons online and look for samples/ freebies! I’m trying to convince my husband that I should stay at home with my son so always on the lookout to save money!

    • That’s EXACTLY where we were at a few years ago … when we crunched our numbers, we were SHOCKED at how much it was actually going to cost me to go back to work outside the home (daycare, commuting, wardrobe, preparing meals differently …. i even calculated in coffee breaks!) Saving at home really made so much more sense for us … hope you’re able to figure out your best option too, Christine. And thanks for making the jump from Twitter to Blog!

  15. I have been following Christa for the past 30 years in 1 way or another! 🙂 She always has great suggestions on facebook and I’m excited to read about all the new stuff on her new website!
